Shashank Khaitan’s next with Varun Dhawan on hold?

Last year, it was announced that Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan and Varun Dhawan were teaming up for what would be an epic war drama, ‘Rannbhoomi’, but since then Khaitan has pushed back on the release date.

Reported by Times Now News, Khaitan had decided to delay ‘Rannbhoomi’ for an espionage thriller, also starring Dhawan, but the director found himself facing a roadblock with the script and has decided to hold on this film too. “I had cracked a great first half, but I botched things up in the second half. Since there is so much great material coming out [from the industry], I felt that if I don’t have anything new to say, I shouldn’t say it. So as of now, I have put the film on the backburner,” explains the ‘Dhadak’ (2018) director.

As for female lead for ‘Rannbhoomi’, speculation says that Khaitan is keen on on casting Jahnvi Kapoor, where as Johar has put forward Sara Ali Khan. Guess time will reveal all, once the films are back on track.
