Last month, BizAsia reported that despite Shahid Kapoor walking out of Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Yoddha,’ the project with still being going ahead – and apparently with Kapoor still involved.
Kapoor was originally going to join the production after completing his sports drama ‘Jersey.’ It was then revealed he left ‘Yoddha’ to be part of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s new online series. This will also mark Kapoor’s OTT debut. The project was also halted due to the recent government restrictions owing to the pandemic in the country, reports Filmfare.
However, reports say Khaitan still has not given up on the dream of making ‘Yoddha’. The director is known for making comedies and so wanted to change this perception with this film.
‘Yoddha’ is supposed to be a high octane, lavishly mounted action film shot across several international locations. And with travel restrictions are in place currently, this also adds to the delay. But the director remains adamant to revive it with Kapoor once life return to normal.
Meanwhile, Khaitan is shooting ‘Mr Lele,’ starring Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar.
