Sharmila Tagore confirms Saifeena 2012 wedding (again!)

Sharmila Tagore has once again reiterated that her son Saif Ali Khan’s wedding to Kareena Kapoor is taking place this year, despite what is being reported.

The veteran star told an Indian tabloid that the wedding ceremony would be in Delhi in October which will be a private affair attended only by close family members of both sides. The couple will later host a lavish reception for the film industry in Mumbai.

Earlier there were rumours that the wedding was to take place in Pataudi palace near Gurgaon as many had indicated that the renovation of the palace was being done specially for the wedding. Rejecting the reports, Tagore said, “After Nawab sahab�۪s funeral, the garden and the area nearby at the Pataudi palace needed some work. We are getting it renovated and a wall has been built. But it has nothing to do with the wedding.”

The couple has maintained a stoic silence on the entire wedding issue. Khan had earlier said that a wedding announcement was imminent but still no word from the actor. Khan’s sister Soha Ali Khan had tweeted that the wedding would take place on 16th October.

The date of the wedding is yet to be confirmed but Sharmila has confirmed that the wedding is indeed happening this year.
