Shankar Mahadevan, who made his mark in the music industry for his beautiful composition ‘Breathless’, has also given the music for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s eagerly awaited ‘Mirzya’ and was recently seen at the music launch with team mates Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa.

According toBox Office India, when asked how the title track was developed, Mahadevan explained, “The brief was about the soundscape, which we wanted to develop and which was never heard before. It۪s fun and, at the same time, it has many layers and many interesting voices, a lot of chorus and heavy music. So the scale is huge. The folksy element has given it a universal kind of approach.”

The soundtrack will seea merge of all the strongest folk singers generated by the industry, such as Sain Zahoor, Akhtar Chinnal, the Nooran sisters and Daler Mehndi, renowned for the earthy and traditional feel of their music.

To enhance the folk aspect of the title track, various instruments and vocals were used for the song.۝Taufiq Qureshi has used a lot of percussion in this song. There are also many Rajasthani singers singing in the soundtrack and even Punjabi singers have a part in this song. There is a traditional, folk flute too…The traditional part was already there, so we sat and just jammed for the music.”

‘Mirzya’ which marks the debut of Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor, opposite Saiyami Kher, is scheduled for release on 7th October.
