Shaney Burney leaves ‘ZEE & U’ after 11 years

ZEE Network UK’s longest running presenters Shaney Burney has left the viewer participation show ‘ZEE & U’ after 11 years to concentrate on other projects within the ZEE Network.

Shaney joined as presenter of the then ‘TVA & U’ programme, which was shown on TV Asia before being bought by ZEE Network. When ‘TVA & U’ became ‘ZEE & U’ in 1995, Shaney was also appointed a full time position with ZEE Network. Initially, ‘ZEE & U’ was broadcast on a daily basis before being reduced to a weekly a few years later.

‘ZEE & U’ is the only show of its kind on Asian television that allows ZEE viewers to have their say on programmes being broadcast across the network.

As revealed a couple of months ago, Shaney Burney has been promoted at ZEE Network UK as Programme Controller of ZEE TV taking over the position left vacant by Pranab Kapadia, who left to join Adlabs.

Shaney’s new workload will leave her little time to record ‘ZEE & U’, even though she will continue to produce the programme, a new presenter Vaishali Saini (picture below) will take over to front it from this Sunday (6th August).
