Shahid on ‘Padmavati’: “Won’t do anything that will hurt people”

In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding ‘Padmavati’, Shahid Kapoor has opened up about the film and said it is being made with the people’s sentiments in mind.

Reported in the Deccan Chronicle, Kapoor expressed “Our attempt will be to shoot the film smoothly. And we just hope when the film releases people look at it in an unbiased way and after that they can say what they want to. Sanjay sir is keeping in mind the sentiments of the people. We will not do anything that will hurt people.”

“The entire year is dedicated to Padmavati. I am sure we will complete the film and bring it out sometime this year,” Kapoor added.

The film will see Kapoor essaying the role of Rawal Ratan Singh, Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmani and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. The film is slated to release on 17th November 2017.
