Shahid-Kareena-Alia halved their fees for ‘Udta Punjab’?

What better credit to the makers��of upcoming movie ‘Udta Punjab’, than knowing three superstars of Bollywood halved their usual asking fees to ensure their spot in the movie was confirmed.

News is making rounds which suggest popular stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt decided to slash their fees after they became so impressed with the plot and storyline of the movie that were determined to accommodate director Abhishek Chaubey’s latest venture.

The director has worked as an associate director and co-writer on many projects in the past, but after the ‘Ishqiya'(2010) and ‘Dedh Ishqiya'(2014) series, ‘Udta Punjab’ will be his third directorial. After the success of his other two movies, there is much hype surrounding��Chaubey’s upcoming project.

On the trios decision to be a part of ‘Udta Punjab’, a source, according to��Deccan Chronicle, shared the following, “They knew it wasn’t a run of the mill Bollywood film. It has a very interesting storyline and talks about substance abuse in Punjab.”

Apparently, it didn’t take long for Kapoor, Khan and Bhatt to make up their mind about signing the movie. The source added, “All three agreed to be part of the film immediately – at half their fees. Their only request was not let the word out, since that could possibly affect their remuneration for other films.”

‘Udta Punjab’ has been scheduled for release on 17th June.
