Shahid Kapoor is winning hearts with his lovable character in ‘Padmaavat’ but who better than his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor, to shower him with oodles of praise.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shahid said that he was initially unsure about taking on the role until Mira convinced him. He said, “I remember telling Mira that I have taken a risk but I will take on this challenge. This film has been a one-and-a-half year long journey. In fact, she supported me a lot. I remember after watching the film, Mira hugged me and said, ‘I am proud of you. The character is so understated and underplayed. It was so difficult but I loved what you did in the film and this is your best performance.’”
He added, “Mira has been the constant support throughout. It’s character in the film that needs a lot from as an actor. I was like the new entrant in the team which has already worked before. To the fact, the film had to deal with before it actually came out. There was so much written about the film before it was seen. It was a tiring journey and Mira has been a support system and like a wall for me. I couldn’t have done it without her.”
