Shahid Kapoor holds no negativity over lack of awards for ‘Kabir Singh’

With not much else to do during the current pandemic lockdown, Shahid Kapoor hosted a Q & A session on Twitter to his legions of fans. And, as expected, he faced a plethora of questions from his fans from all over the world.

One topic that appeared regularly was his thoughts on the lack of awards received for his performance in ‘Kabir Singh’ (2019). His performance, and the film in general, was appreciated by fans and critics alike. However, there was controversy when both the film and the star were also called out for promoting misogyny.

One fan asked, “Do you feel disappointed that your Kabir Singh performance wasn’t appreciated by the awards ceremonies because of the controversy surrounding it?” Kapoor replied, “On the contrary. I can’t be thankful enough for the love you all have it. I am because of you all.”

Kapoor was also asked his thoughts on about his next film, ‘Jersey.’ Kapoor said, “Just trying our best to make a good film. But I am very happy with whatever we have done so far. Really enjoying the journey and the team.”

‘Jersey,’ a sports drama, shows Kapoor in the role of a cricketer. The movie is due to release on 28th August but this will most likely change.
