Shahid Kapoor hails Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’
Bollywood was going through a rough patch post the pandemic. The subsequent call for bans of new releases, poor performance of films and an ever-growing negative press for the industry had a huge impact on business. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ (2023) changed all that.
Shahid Kapoor is all praise for Khan and Deepika Padukone’s latest that is breaking records day-after-day. The actor in a candid interview to Connect FM Canada confirmed that he has watched the movie and was waiting to be invited to the next success bash of Yash Raj Films’ latest. When the actor was probed about what did the success of ‘Pathaan’ mean for the industry? Without batting an eyelid, Kapoor said, “Money! Hopefully some confidence in oneself. I think everybody is losing confidence in themselves only.” The actor then went on to add, “I think ‘Pathaan’ is a result of a lot of confidence and a lot of effort of course. But they really backed themselves and that’s what works.”

Beating the Boycott!
Clearly a new wave of excitement has washed over the Hindi film industry after the success of the Khan’s latest movie. We may in fact end up seeing a rise in the number of action movies made in the country in the coming days. Bollywood is often accused of mimicking the south and west, but with ‘Pathaan’ it seems like Hindi filmmakers have found their own action rhythm.

Shahid’s cheer for ‘Pathaan’, reflects of the entire industry’s relief. In fact, actor Suniel Shetty had urged to get rid of the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend. The actor was hoping that the newfound hate for industry is not fair.

SRK Mania hits B-town!
Shahid was not the only one sharing the excitement around ‘Pathaan’. An ecstatic Anurag Kashyap watched the movie and want gaga about it. During a recent interview, the filmmaker turned actor reflected on how SRK’s ‘Pathaan’ brought about a revolution of sorts. Well, looks like not just his fans, SRK has the industry cheering happily for him.
