‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ will see rumoured ex-flames Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra come together once again. However, news has it that when Kunal Kohli initially told Kapoor about the venture, he wasn’t instantly convinced.

Kapoor, as reported by NDTV, explains, “I, however, had reservations about doing a reincarnation film. Kunal assured me that it would be a romantic comedy. I found that interesting. I was not skeptical before signing the film because it’s a very simple film. It’s not complicated at all”. Kapoor’s last movie, ‘Mausam’ (2011), was also from the romance genre but bombed miserably at the box office.

The actor continued, “I think the audience really liked me and her (Priyanka) in Kaminey. It’s always fun working with her. This film is very much different from Kaminey and nothing will look similar”. Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’ (2009) was a thriller and was successful with Kapoor in a double role.

When asked about the truth in rumours that there were cold vibes on set between himself and Chopra, Kapoor was quick to dismiss, “I don’t deal with these situations. I just let them go. Just ignore this news and move on. These reports don’t bother me”.

The actor, when talking about whether he fears failure at the box office, “Success can be more dangerous than failure. When you are successful, you feel that you are doing everything right. So, failure can teach you a lot. I just believe in ‘Go out and do your best”.

‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ is slated for release on 22nd June.
