Shahid Kapoor charges Rs 12 crore for ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’?

Shahid Kapoor has come a very long way with a number of major successes under his belt. This being said, it seems the actor is now in a position where he is able to charge his own salary for his films, where his most recent upcoming project ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ has earned him a whopping Rs. 12 crore.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the actor has also signed a three film deal with production house ZEE Studios. “This deal means that the studio has invested in who it sees to be a potential superstar. The amount paid to the actor will increase as he completes each of the three films. From Shahid’s point of view, it’s a win. He charged Rs 12 crore for ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and this three-film deal consolidates his position among the lot of rising superstars including Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan,” Time Now News reports a source revealing.

If this is anything to go by, it seems Kapoor is aiming as high as he can in order to secure his position as a top actor post the success of ‘Padmaavat’ (2018).

Set to release on 21st September ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ will also star Yami Gautam and Shraddha Kapoor.
