Shah Rukh Khan to miss IIFA 2012

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards��will mark 13 years in about a week. The prestigious ceremonies have taken Bollywood and all within the industry around the world, gracing various countries with the glitz and glam of the fraternity. BizAsia can reveal that Shah Rukh Khan will not be attending this year’s IIFAs, set to take place in Singapore.

Khan, according to Hindustan Times, will be preoccupied in the filming of Yash Raj Films untitled project and will be flying to London this weekend with his children. Khan had attended the IIFA ceremony last year in Toronto and his presence was appreciated by all.

A spokesperson for Khan confirmed, “The rumours of Shah Rukh and his family being at IIFA has got many of his fans excited but this is to clarify to everyone that Shah Rukh is in London shooting for Yash Chopra”.

It is thought that his co-stars for the film, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, will be flying to London to join Khan soon after. The film is expected to release at Diwali and will see Yash Chopra’s return as director.
