After Hrithik Roshan’s exit from ‘Shuddhi’, Karan Johar has been left in a pickle and it looks like the filmmaker will turn to his good friend to fill the male lead in the film.
Johar has already confirmed the release date of ‘Shuddhi’ to hit cinemas on Christmas Day of 2015 despite the film suffering several setbacks.
A source told BollywoodLife, “Shahrukh came with Chennai Express in Eid, (considered Salman Khan۪s date) and broke records. Now if he has a release on X۪Mas (which belongs to Aamir Khan) and shatter box-office figures, it will be the ultimate high. Even though Aamir has not made an announcement yet for December 2015, he has released his last three films have released on that date.”
If the reports turn out to be true, then this will be Khan’s first film under the Dharma Productions banner since ‘My Name Is Khan’ (2010). This time though, Karan Malhotra will be helming the project as oppose to Johar.
With Kareena Kapoor Khan also opting out of the film, it remains to be seen who the filmmaker will cast as the female lead. Deepika Padukone is looking favourite to bag the film but the actress confirmed last week she has not yet been approached for the role.
