Shah Rukh Khan supports Mahira Khan against Shiv Sena

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming ‘Raees’ stars him and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, but looks like politics have come in the way of Bollywood casting, as the Shiv Sena��political party��is opposing the��introduction��of Pakistani actors in Bollywood. Although Shah Rukh has come out in support of Mahira, saying that one’s nationality has nothing to do with their creativity.

As according to the Hindustan Times, Fawad Khan and Mahira are among the actors that will be facing opposition. Shah Rukh said, “Well the fact that she is in my film means that she should be…the word is not allowed. Whichever place starts questioning its creative people, will face backlash.” Shah Rukh added that he finds this opposition silly and creative people have no place in this matter. These political issues should be handled by politicians and the “inter-culture exchange of artists between the two countries don’t change anything.”

‘Raees’ is directed by Rahul Dholakia and is slated to release on 3rd July, 2016.
