Shah Rukh Khan returns to romance in ‘Chennai Express’

In his most recent films, ‘Don 2’ (2012) and ‘Ra One’ (2012),��Shah Rukh Khan has showcased himself as an action hero. However, in Rohit Shetty’s forthcoming ‘Chennai Express’, the actor’s romantic self is set to make a comeback.

Earlier reports suggested that ‘Chennai Express’ would be an action flick but Bollywood Hungama has confirmed that it is indeed a romantic film. A source revealed, “Yes, UTV will be producing Chennai Express, which will be directed by Rohit and star Shah Rukh Khan. However, no more details can be divulge as of now”.

The movie is about a man who takes a journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and his experiences within. Although a leading lady hasn’t yet been confirmed, it is thought Deepika Padukone may be approached for the film. Padukone, of course, made her debut with Khan and it will be something else to see them come together after a number of years.
