Despite his recent film ‘Chennai Express’ (2013) having been released already, actor Shah Rukh Khan is doing everything he can to promote the film further. With visits to local theatres, news has it that the actor was refused entry to two of Mumbai city’s multiplexes.

News has emerged that Khan’s plan was to visit these cinemas whilst his film is playing, in order to see the reaction of his audiences. Having received permission in advance,PVR Phoenix Kurla and PVR Phoenix Lower Parel decided to changed their mind at the last minute. Times of Indiareported a source stating, “SRK had been granted the permission by the multiplexes and it was duly advertised. But at the last minute, the mall owners reversed their decision. The reason provided by them for making a U-turn was that SRK’s presence would bring in huge crowds of people and that at the last minute, they hadn’t been able to arrange for adequate man power to control the swelling crowds. On national holidays, the footfall nearly doubles. But if he still decided to come, we are ready to welcome him.”

“The last time when a big star had come for a visit, it had resulted in a lot of property damage amounting to huge losses for the owners. This time they want to play safe (sic).” the source went onto add.
