Shah Rukh Khan faces criminal complaint
The Wankhede Stadium row has reared its ugly head again after a private criminal complaint was today filed in a local court against actor Shah Rukh Khan.
According to ZEE News, the complaint was filed by local lawyer-come-activist Indrajeet Singh Bhatia under section 200 of CrPc (examination of complainant) in the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Sangeeta Tiwari.
Bhatia urged the court to book Khan under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 499 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Bhatia added that the actor is “not above the law”.
Last month, Khan was involved in a brawl with security guards and cricket officials at the Indian Premier League tournament at the Wankhede Stadium.
