The former IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi has been embroiled in much controversy, Shah Rukh Khan’s name has also been dragged into it. Khan, who is the co-owner of the IPL team, Kolkata Knight Ridershad reportedly met with Modi in London, to which Khan has confirmed that he had no such meeting.
According to the Deccan Chronicle, the controversy started when Modi had been given travel documents approved by external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan chief minister Vashundara Raje also favored Modi’s immigration plea in London.
Khan confirmed, on an interview with NDTV, that he didn’t meet the controversial ex-minister in London and it would have been news by now if he did. He said, “No, I didn’t even have a vacation in London. I was shooting in Bulgaria…I finished in the evening, took the morning…(sic)…After because it was that last night…we were awake till about 6 in the morning…chatting and talking…and just about entered the plane at about 2 o’ clock, landed in the evening, and next day I had my daughter’s and son’s admission. So, I hardly had time there…No I did not meet Lalit Modi…If I had, he would have told everyone.”
Khan had gone to Bulgaria for his upcoming film with Kajol, ‘Diwale’.
