Shah Rukh Khan confirmed to host Indian ‘Wipeout’

Shah Rukh Khan has been confirmed as host of the Indian version of ‘Zor Ka Jhatka Total Wipeout’ on Imagine Dil Se.

Last week rumours linked the Bollywood superstar to the huge gameshow but channel officials put it down to “media speculation”. Today, however, full details have emerged about the new series, plus confirmation of Shah Rukh Khan as the main presenter of the show. He will be joined by Saumya Tandon as the “on-ground reporter”.

The channel has lined up 26 celebrities to be a part of the show. The names of the male celebrities include Hanif Hilal, Vindu Dara Singh, Gaurav Chopra, Bakhtiyar, Manoj Kumar, Gracios D’Costa, Amit Sareen, Kushal Punjabi, Rohit Verma, Vrajesh Hirjee, Akashdeep Saigal, Manas Katyal and Raja Chaudhri.

The female celebrities are Ashima Bhalla, Payal Rohtagi, Naryani Shastri, Priyadarshani, Sonika Kaliraman, Simran Kaur Mundi, Krushna Patil, Debina Chaudhri, Dimpy Mahajan, Karishma Tanna, Natasha Suri and Claudia Ciesela.

The show will be aired from late-January/early-February over a three week period with episodes scheduled Monday to Friday in 60-minute slots.

Each night, the contestants will compete in a series of challenges in an attempt to win large pots of cash. These challenges are based in large pools of water or mud and generally involve large assault courses that participants must cross.
