Shabina Khan confirms ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’ script ready

The script of the much-awaited sequel to Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Rowdy Rathore’ (2012) is ready. It just needs to be approved by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is co-producing the film, says Shabina Khan.

There have been talks about the sequel to the action-comedy film since it became a blockbuster six years ago, reports Pinkvilla. Sharing its progress, Khan told the media, “It is ready. The writing took some time from Mr. Vijayendra Prasad. Now we are ready.”

“Mr. Bhansali and I co-produced. I am just waiting for him to approve the script and then we will move on.”

While ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’ is set to begin rolling, she is set to debut as a producer on the small screen with ‘Zindagi Ke Crossroads,’ which will premiere on Sony Entertainment Television on 6th June. “It took two years. It is a very difficult show,” she said.

‘Zindagi Ke Crossroads,’ to be hosted by actor Ram Kapoor, will present a new narrative for every episode. The crossroads faced by the protagonists will be open for discussion to a set of the studio audience. Produced by Khan, the concept, story and screenplay have been developed by Mahadev, who has been an integral part of Vijayendra Prasad’s team.

Khan explained her interest in working on TV.  “I loved the concept. If you want to stand out, you have to do something different. That’s what I am trying,” she said.

“I will (do more TV shows) but I will do things which… my funda in life is that I want to do things which I will enjoy watching too. Even while making ‘Rowdy…’, my first film, I thought that I would have given Rs 500 to buy a ticket to watch that film,” she added.
