Shabana Azmi’s condition improving; to stay in ICU for another 48 hours

After the fatal road incident on Saturday, Shabana Azmi has been hospitalised, with family, friends and fans globally awaiting an update on her health.

Thankfully, filmmaker Boney Kapoor provided an update with a statement to SpotBoye. He said, “Shabana Azmi is improving rapidly. The MRI was done and it was clear. She is not on sedation anymore. However, she will remain in the ICU for about 48 hours more just to see if everything is maintained well enough.”

Azmi suffered a head injury and a slight damage to her backbone. An FIR has been registered against Azmi’s driver by Rajesh Pandurang Shinde, the truck driver whose vehicle was hit from behind by Azmi’s car.
