As the joyous celebrations of Eid get underway, actress Shabana Azmi remembered her dear friend and co-star Farooque Sheikh who sadly past away last year.

Being close to the actor, Azmi took to social networking site Twitter to express the great moments they use to share during such celebrations. “Missing Farooque. Every Eid we used to have a fierce competition ki sheer qorma kiske ghar ka behtar hai,” the veteran actress tweeted.

Azmi and Sheikh had worked together many time in the past, however it was their play ‘Tumhari Amrita’ (1992) that they have been most celebrated for as co-stars. The play was the Indian adaptation of A.R. Gurney’s American play ‘Love Letters’ (1988). Having premiered in India ‘Tumhari Amrita’ was staged across Europe, USA and Pakistan.
