Nearly two years after its theatrical release, sex comedy ‘Grand Masti’ is finally heading for its television premiere.

BizAsia can confirm that ZEE Network has acquired the rights of the Bollywood blockbuster. According to reports, the television version of the film will be much more tame after a shocking 218 cuts. Regional officer of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Rahul Vaidya had previously sent a show cause notice to the makers asking them to effect 218 cuts for small screen viewing.

‘Grand Masti’ is based on Meet, Prem, and Amar who look to have a blast at their college reunion, though they soon find themselves in another predicament. It stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani.

ZEE Network confirmed earlier this week it had acquired some huge titles such as ‘Singh Is Bling’, ‘Haider’, ‘Khoobsurat’ and ‘The Shaukeens’.
