‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ to premiere on SonyLIV

The over-the-top (OTT) media service platform offers something new each passing day. And with many films skipping the theatrical release due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and opting for digital releases, filmmaker Hansal Mehta too has joined the movement.

Mehta’s directorial venture, titled ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story,’ will premiere on 9th October on the SonyLIV platform. It is created by Applause Entertainment. The filmmaker also announced the trailer with be out soon be out for the audience. The shooting was wrapped up earlier in March, reports Spotboye.

The series will showcase the life of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker who drove the stock market to massive heights, followed by his drastic downfall. The series is set in 1980’s and 90’s Bombay. Along announcing the premiere date of the series, Mehta’s tweet on the release also left the audience on a cliff-hanger by not unveiling the face of the central character.

Mehta’s tweet read, “SCAM 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story | Streaming From 09-10-20 Set in 1980’s & 90’s Bombay, Scam 1992 follows the life of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker who single-handedly took the stock market to dizzying heights & his catastrophic downfall.”

In another tweet Mehta mentioned they shot for 85 days over 6 months’ period, script of 550 pages, over 170 characters and 200 locations. He also thanked the team for the all limitations and downfall they surpassed to make this show happen.
