Sayyeshaa Saigal to play Sanjay Dutt’s daughter

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s grandniece Sayyeshaa Saigal, who recently made her Bollywood debut in Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ (2016), will be seen playing the role of Sanjay Dutt’s daughter in Omung Kumar’s next titled ‘Bhoomi’.

The film, reported to be a revenge drama, will mark Dutt’s return to the silver screen and it is said the makers believed Saigal was perfect for the pivotal role of his daughter.

According to NDTV Movies, a source close to the production team revealed, “She (Sayyeshaa) has-been signed for the film as she was apt for the role. She will play the daughter. Her role is quite interesting and good. She will most likely start shooting next year in January. But before the shoot she will have workshops.”

On his decision to sign ‘Bhoomi’, in spite of receiving many offers for his comeback film Dutt responded, “I have been looking for scripts that went beyond my screen persona. I wanted to do something vulnerable yet powerful. Bhoomi is an emotional and sensitive drama that explores the relationship between a father and daughter.”

‘Bhoomi’, co-produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Sandeep Singh and Legend Studios, is said to go on floors next year and will be predominantly shot in Uttar Pradesh.
