Sarika Shankarnarayan appointed first female Head of Star UK

Sarika Shankarnarayan has been confirmed as the new lead for UK international business – making her the first female head of the company.

Shankarnarayan, who has been with the organisation for 14 years, will replace Gaurav Jandwani, who leaves after four years. As well as overlooking Star UK operations, he was also the Business Head – Growth Markets & AVOD, Hotstar International.

Shankarnarayan has managed teams across UK, India, South Africa, US and Middle East, with her award winning marketing strategies. During her tenure, Star Plus became the leading Asian TV broadcaster in the UK, with impactful campaigns.

Shankarnarayan will report to Sudhir Nagpal, the new lead for International Distribution business. He has been with the company since 2016.
