Sara Ali Khan says mum Amrita Singh is “ecstatically happy” with ‘Kedarnath’ success

This week saw the release of Sara Ali Khan’s debut film ‘Kedarnath’, starring opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, and the former has been receiving endless praise for her performance, much to the delight of her mum Amrita Singh.

Reported on DNA India, the young newcomer explains how her mum is over the moon with the success of her first film. “I was promoting the film in Delhi, but she (Amrita) was constantly messaging me and sending me screenshots of all the reviews that had my name in them. Seeing all the love that I am getting from the audience, she is ecstatically happy,” says Ali Khan.

Of course her father Saif Ali Khan is also extremely pleased, “I think my father is feeling proud, because a lot of people are messaging him good things about my performance. In spite of all the nepotism debates, if media and audience are finding my performance good, it makes it even more special,” shared the 25 year old.

However it’s not over yet, Ali Khan is now preparing for her second film ‘Simmba’ which releases on the 28th December. This time starring opposite Ranveer Singh, the filmmakers dropped the first song from the film a remix of the 90’s classic ‘Aankh Marey’, which has garnered 33 million views already. Asked about the song, Ali Khan said she had a lot of fun shooting for it. “Shooting this song with Ranveer was too much fun. I am also enjoying watching the song. I am sure I have contributed about 100 views myself because I am watching the song on repeat.”
