Sara Ali Khan declines Anushka Sharma’s film offer

Newcomer Sara Ali Khan, who is debuting opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in director Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kedarnath’, has reportedly rejected a lead role in Anushka Sharma’s upcoming production.

While Khan was initially interested in the project, a source told DNA India, “Sara’s debut film, ‘Kedarnath will release in December next year. Abhishek Kapoor, who is directing the film, doesn’t want her to sign any other film as he feels that will distract her from her first movie outing. The team will finish shooting the film around June next year and then, there’s a lot of CGI work that needs to be done. Gattu wants Sara to concentrate completely on ‘Kedarnath till the release of the film. Since Prernaa (Arora) is the common link, the team mutually decided that Sara won’t be doing Anushka’s film anymore. But this development happened after a bit of an internal clash.”

Khan’s mother, Amrita Singh, disagrees with Kapoor’s decision. “Amrita is extremely involved in her daughter’s career and she doesn’t agree with Abhishek’s thinking. She feels it’s okay for her to sign another project while shooting for ‘Kedarnath, and the two have been discussing and arguing over this.”

Sharma’s thriller-drama film, tentatively titled ‘Bulbul’, is expected to begin shooting in July, 2018.
