Saqib Saleem gives his take on trolls: “They could be anybody”

With a growing acting career, Saqib Saleem has made quite the impact with critics and audiences alike. However, as with any successful stars, comes the negative and, at times, this includes outright offensive comments from online trolls. Talking about how he deals with such situation, the actor expressed how he isn’t phased by such things.

“These people don’t matter to me. I have never met them. How can I be affected by them? How do I even know they are a real persons? They could be anybody,” Mid-Day reports the actor stating.

He went on to add, “They could be codes, algorithms — anything. Technology has reached such a stage that you really dont know what is happening. I would rather distance myself from these and be happy with people who give me love and work with them.”

His most recent release is web-series ‘Crackdown’ (2020) which was a OTT hit that was appreciated by the masses. Being his first digital platform release, Saleem impressed his audiences, which only enriched his popularity.

When asked how he would respond to the likes of online trolls, Saleem went on to say, “I don’t let the negativity that is not under my control affect me because today the internet is a free space where everybody is allowed to say whatever they want. So, I will not respond to them.”

Despite the lockdown having halted many projects for a lot of big names, Saleem has been one out of the many that has continued to be a part of upcoming projects. As well as Ranveer Singh starrer ’83’, Saleem also as Nachiket Samant’s ‘Comedy Couple’ in the pipeline too.
