Sanona Ltd. has announced the launch of a new generation online pay-per-view digital movie distribution business serving global non-English language markets.
Starting with mainstream Indian films, Sanona۪s initial aim is to serve the UK۪s 3.5million strong South Asian community, who are acknowledged as being stronger than average film-lovers and early adopters of new technology.
With the film industry itself showing a major shift towards VOD services, and consumers making a clear transition from cinema to online, Sanona seems set to make waves within the Indian film industry and provide south Asian audiences both in the UK and globally with much needed control of their viewing choices.
Sanona is acquiring quality commercial Hindi films to attract Bollywood movie buffs and has been working to develop partnerships with all the major Indian film studios (key deal announcements to follow).
Sanona is the brainchild of Adam Davies, CEO, Sanona Ltd., a London-based industry expert on digital distribution business models, with seventeen years۪ executive and entrepreneurial experience in film finance, distribution and content acquisition.
Davies said, Sanona will aim to acquire annual slates, comprising all licensors۪ releases for a calendar year. Besides well known Indian production houses, we have also begun acquiring regional, independent and art house cinema in order to procure features that will appeal to more culturally and artistically inclined audiences who are currently under served by traditional theatrical distributors.
