Sheesh Mahal from ‘Mughul-E-Azam’ (1960) is remembered for the song Pyar kiya toh darna kya. Now, it seems Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to be the creator of a similar memory as news has it he’s created an Aaina Mahal for ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

Talking to Hindustan Times, a source revealed, “This has to be the most extravagant set Bhansali has ever created. It took over 40 days to build it, and has been designed by Saloni Dhatrak, Sriram Iyengar and Sujeet Sawant. The mirrors that were used were specially bought from Jaipur, Rajasthan.”

The song which will be shot in the Aaina Mahal will feature all three main actors,; Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. “The set also boasts 13 chandeliers that were lit up with candles for the song۪s shoot,” the source adds.

Designer Saloni Dhatrak divulged, “We created the Aaina Mahal keeping Maratha architecture in mind. We have consciously kept the size of the mirrors in a range that would help maintain the design۪s delicateness, and not pose any obstructions when it comes to capturing the set on camera”.

The film is set to release on 18th December.
