Sanjay Gupta signs Shabana Azmi in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘Jazbaa’

With so many rumours doing the rounds as to who will bring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on screen again, the most recent rumour has it that Sanjay Gupta will be the one. Not only will he bring her on screen, but he will have her cast alongside some other very prestigious names.

According to Times of India, Gupta has signed Rai Bachchan alongside non other than Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi. Titled ‘Jazbaa’, the film maker has signed the young actress to play a lawyer who is fighting a case against a cop played by Khan, to get him suspended. However, with the cop doing more than what his role entails, the task deems more difficult than the lawyer has ever imagined. Azmi has been signed to play the role of a mother who begins her own trial against both the other characters for the mishaps that they have caused on her life.

Reports have it that the film is set to floor in December and where Mumbai will be it backdrop. According to the leading daily Gupta ��is aiming to get the film entered in the Cannes Film Festival 2015. With such a short deadline, it seems the film maker is going to have to rush things. Here’s hoping the film is well worth the effort.
