As reported by BizAsia yesterday, Sanjay Dutt was all set to return to prison as his furlough came to an end. However, the latest news on this front is that though Dutt did return to Yerawada Central Jail yesterday, he made his way back home after just a few hours.
According to IANS, a government official clarified that as a decision has not yet been taken on the furlough extension, which Dutt applied for on 27th December, he was not yet required to surrender.
The actor was convicted in May 2013 for illegal possession of an AK-56 army assault rifle, in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
