Sanjay Dutt has been given a new identity since being shifted from Mumbai’s Arthur Road Prison to Yeravada Central Jail.

He will be known as prisoner number 16656 henceforth during his jail term. Sources from Times Of India said Dutt will be given prescribed manual work job in due course after formalities of admission are over. There will not be any special treatment to the actor except required due to the threat perception, they added.

The star has been lodged in a separate individual cell in view of his security needs.

Dutt was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, which was upheld by the Supreme Court in March.
