Sanjay Dutt confirmed for ‘Munnabhai 3’

Ace director Rajkumar Hirani has confirmed that Sanjay Dutt will be starring in the third installment of ‘Munnabhai’ and that the film is in its scripting stages.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Hirani said, ���I have found a story that is as good as Lage Raho Munna Bhai or maybe even better. I wasn’t doing the third part because I wasn’t finding anything that matches that level. Now, I have found it, but it will take some time to write it. I am writing a script for Munna Bhai 3 and Sanju will star in it, and will play his age. I spoke to him (about the film when he came out on parole recently), and he was very excited.”

Hirani said that his next film will be the biopic on Sanjay Dutt, played by Ranbir Kapoor. ‘Munnabhai 3’ is expected to go on the floors after this. He said, ���I have a couple of ideas, so I am writing two more scripts besides Sanju’s biopic. While one is a Munna Bhai film, there’s also another new story. I plan to take it up after wrapping up Sanju’s biopic.�۝

So, while there have been rumours aplenty about the ‘Munnabhai’ franchise, it is now confirmed by the filmmaker that the third part will star Dutt himself.
