Sandwell & Birmingham Mela 2020 cancelled amid coronavirus

Organisers of the Sandwell & Birmingham Mela have confirmed that they have cancelled this year’s huge event, which would have marked its tenth anniversary, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement issued by the organisers, it said that “This decision has not been taken lightly and we have tried our hardest to make it work, but it was unavoidable given the current status. We were all excited to welcome to the Mela and celebrate our 10th birthday together.”

The event will no longer take place this year. It has been confirmed to take place in 2021, on 17th and 18th July 2021 at Victoria Park, Smethwick, Birmingham.
