Sandip Sickand keen on signing Karan & Dipika for new show after ‘KHKT’

With the end of ‘Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’ on Star Plus approaching, producer Sandip Sickand has revealed that he would be keen to work with the lead pair Karan V Grover and Dipika Kakar for a new series.

In an interview with Raj Baddhan on Sabras Radio, Sickand said that the way show rights work, it will not be possible to take the show to another channel or platform, despite it faring well in India and UK ratings. Instead, Sickand said he wouldn’t rule out working with Grover and Kakar on a new project.

He told Baddhan, “Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum will end on the 14th of March, that’ll be the last episode. I would probably try and do a show with the same lead pair on a different channel, with a new story. But I don’t think there’ll be a spin-off of a Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum or a sequel of it as it’ll have to be with the channel. Basically, when you sign up for a show, the rights of the story are all with the channel. A producer doesn’t have a say in what the channel decides. Seeing Karan and Dipika together would only happen if I got a good story or a subject and I manage to pitch it to a channel then I can bring the cast together. But this will pretty be the end of Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum.”

Sickand sounded disheartened about the channel’s decision to end the show but happy it was bowing out on a high. In the interview, he did confirm that a lot of the tracks will be quickly rushed to bring a logical end to the show. He also said that there will be a happy end to the series, which could see Rohit and Sonakshi going off on their much delayed honeymoon.
