In Hotstar’s thriller drama ‘Rudrakaal’, Sambhav Jain plays the role of of a police officer. This is his third web-series and he has an important role in it.

BizAsiaLive.com caught up with the actor recently to talk about the web-series.

‘Rudrakaal’ sees you playing a young cop? What was that like?
I am truly grateful for having the opportunity to play cop on screen. It is very satisfying to use the power of a cop in a right direction by helping people and solving their problems. Everyday in life as a cop is very interesting and exciting as we get to tackle different different situations.

What did it personally mean to you to play someone in uniform?
It is always an honour to put on a uniform. I have always had a love for Uniform. For me it was all about the responsibility and power one gets to solve issues and give back to society by just being honest and truthful. As my purpose in life is to contribute to the society, so my role as a cop was helping me to do that in Reel life as well.

What attracted you to the character?
It’s vulnerability and honesty towards performing the duties given to him. His eagerness to learn and grow. This character does everything out of pure intentions. Also the journey of this character is very interesting.

Do you see any similarities between your character and you in real life?
Yes, I feel my character in real life and reel life are similar in lot of ways. They have same passion towards their work, same honesty to perform a task. Both have the fire inside them to do something for society and people. So they have lot of similarities as a being.

What was the most challenging part of the role?
The most challenging part was to work on the body language which was also fun to do as I got to learn a lot by doing that.

What else do you have coming up after ‘Rudrakaal’?
I have recently acted in a feature film as a lead. It’s a love story and drama shot in Himachal Pradesh. It’s currently in post production stage. I have recently acted in a web-series ‘Rickshaw’ which has actors like Brijendra Kala and is directed by Palash Muchhal. It is produced by Shilpa Shetty Kundra.

What have you spent recent time binge-watching?
Honestly speaking I didn’t get time to watch anything in recent times. But I really want to watch web-series like ‘Scam 1992’, ‘Ashram’ and ‘The Family Man’ next.
