Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ declared tax free in UP

Even before its release, Yash Raj Films’ ‘Sultan’ has been declared tax free in Uttar Pradesh, BizAsia has come to know.

The Salman Khan starrer is currently being shot in the state. According to Business of Cinema, the state minister and the MLA of Samajwadi Party Madan Chauhan said, “Filmmakers will get complete support from the state government if they decided to shoot in Uttar Pradesh. Sultan gets tax exemption because it has shot here”.

He added, “The film will get the tax benefit not just at the multiplexes but we will come up with a special scheme even for single screen theatres also”.

The film is a sports based one with Khan and Anushka Sharma as wrestlers. It’s directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is slated for release on 3rd July.
