Salman Khan: “Today competing with juniors is very difficult”

Despite having one of the largest fan followings and having remained at the top of the actors lead board for quite some time now, Salman Khan has expressed how it’s becoming harder to stay there with so many new faces being introduced in the film industry.

“”My fans keep me going. The older you get, the harder it is to keep going as you need to compete with your juniors and it is difficult. Today competing with juniors is very difficult,” Deccan Chronicle reports the actor expressing.

With the expansion of film genres and the development of technology, ideology and social change, the film Industry has been prompted to move with the times. Now with the IIFA’s taking place in New York next month, Khan who will be a big part of the ceremony, also has been nominated against the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput. Talking about his feelings towards the award, Khan explained, “Definitely not me. I believe in the rewards I get from IIFA and fans, but awards are not my thing.”

Talking about the prestigious award ceremony, Khan went on to say, “I will be part of everything that happens with IIFA this year. I will be performing on stage on ‘Radio’ (a song from his movie ‘Tubelight’)…and maybe giving away an award but not receiving one.”

This year, IIFA will be taken to New York, where Karan Johar will be hosting the main event. It will be broadcast live on Colors TV.
