Salman Khan to play a Sikh cop in upcoming film with Aayush Sharma

After BizAsiaLive.com revealed on Thursday that Salman Khan and brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma will be sharing screen space with Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming film, fans have been rather excited about the details.

The latest buzz suggests that Khan will be playing a Sikh policeman for the first time. Mumbai Mirror reports that Khan will be growing a beard and wearing a turban too for the role. The untitled film will be directed by Abhiraj Minawala, who helmed Sharma’s debut film ‘Loveyatri’.

A source said, “Salman has played cops before, but what excited him about this one is that he’s a Sikh cop. He will be growing a beard for real and wears a turban. He will undergo multiple look tests next week with his team.”

Khan previously played a Sikh character in 2008 film ‘Heroes’, in which he played a Sikh army soldier. This film will not have any romantic angle for Khan. The source added, “However, this time around, there won’t be an actress opposite Salman. His is an honest, upright, no-nonsense cop on a mission. However, the hunt is on for a leading lady for Aayush, a gangster on the run. He will sport a rugged look and will bulk up for the role since Salman and he have several confrontations.”
