Salman Khan 3

Salman Khan has been known for many years for his charity work and helping those who are vulnerable. On his 50th birthday on 27th December, the actor is going to start a clean-up drive and invite volunteers to help him.

Khan will be nominating 500 volunteers on social media to join in with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. A spokesperson spoke to Mumbai Mirror, “This is not a sudden decision following the acquittal. Both Salim and Salman have been working in the areas of education and healthcare for the underprivileged in Mumbai for a while now. The foundation already supports Akshara High School and the NGO Aseema, providing schooling to 500 students. Next year this number will quadruple”.

Next year, Khan plans to move the slums, starting with Dharavi. A fund of 1 crore has already been set aside for the slum rehabilitation programme. Khan and his father are keen to not only move the slums but also provide books, improve hygiene facilities and much more as part of the initiative.
