Salman Khan’s love for children is well known. When he was approached to be the voice of Hanuman in an animated feature film, giving a nod for the project was a no-brainer for the actor.

Khan will be heard as the voiceover for Hanuman in the forthcoming ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’. Director Ruchi Narain told Mumbai Mirror, “He’s the kind of actor who once he gets the ball, runs with it and always scores. His improvisations had us in splits. He’d look at us and ask, “Zyada ho gaya kya?” And we’d assure him he was just great. Sometimes, in between shots, he’d croon, “Main hoon Hanuman tera””.

Narain also spoke of how her film is different to Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Return of Hanuman’ (2007), “Anurag took Hanuman into the fiction space, my story is more a mix of mythology and fiction”.

“Everyone knows about the Ramayan, but legend has it that there was something called the Hanumad Ramayan which is lost to us. This is what I imagine Hanuman’s story to be like,” she added.

The film is expected to release towards the end of 2016.
