Salman Khan review petition rejected by Mumbai court

The Mumbai Sessions Court has rejected Salman Khan’s review petition today in the 2002 hit and run case.

He will now be tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. This means that he will now be tried under Section 304, part 2 of IPC. If convicted the actor may face up to ten years in jail.

The court has given Salman one month to appear before the court.

Earlier, Khan had been tried under the less severe Section 304A of IPC, relating to causing death by negligence, which stipulates a maximum two years in jail.
