Salman Khan stands by ‘Tubelight’ despite its failure

In past years when Salman Khan has released a film during a festival, it has smashed box office records. His upcoming film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is all set to do the same but his last offering ‘Tubelight’ earlier this year was a different story. However, the actor still feels it was a good film.

Khan opened up about the box office failure the film suffered while he was recently promoting his ‘Da-Bangg’ concert. According to Bollywood Hungama, he said, “Tubelight was an amazing film and I make jokes on it but it was a really good film. Actually the film was meant for family audience. So the Eid was not the right time for it to release. It was a very heart wrenching kind of a film where you cry and you feel for the brothers and stuff like that. And Eid or Diwali or Christmas, festive release should always be entertaining. It can be action, romance, comedy but it has be an entertaining film”.

The film marked the third collaboration between Khan and director Kabir Khan.
