Salman Khan to spend night in prison; bail plea on Friday

In a shocking turn of events today, Salman Khan has been convicted in the 1998 black-buck poaching case where he was given a five-year sentence.

BizAsiaLive.com understands that Khan will be spending a night in prison. His legal team have put together his bail plea, which will be heard at Jodhpur Court on Friday morning at 10:30.

He was found guilty under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. The Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri branded the superstar a ‘habitual offender’.

Other stars from ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, were also accused in the case but were given a clean-chit. A fifth person, Dushyant Singh, a local businessman from the area, has also been acquitted.
