Salman Khan opens up on rape comment

Salman Khan in Sultan 340x

Salman Khan has been in the headlines for quite some time and not only due to the huge success of ‘Sultan’ (2016). The actor made a comment relating his training for the film and compared the feeling to a “raped woman”. He has been surrounded by controversy ever since and has finally reacted to the media attention the comment has received.

“So now should I give you something to survive for the next two weeks? If I don’t say anything I am boring. See, I understand your responsibility towards your job. But if I say something my people won’t like it. So you guys decide and tell me what you want me to do,” said the actor, according to Mumbai Mirror.

The actor also said that it is often a catch 22 situation when dealing with media, “You speak, you don’t speak. People will still write what they want to. I may say something, it will be taken as something else…. Phir ek statement ko ghuma firake kya hota hai, you know (You know how a statement is twisted). It’s sad”.

He concluded, “I believe you are as good as your last film. To me, it’s the performance of the last film that matters. The whole cycle begins from there again. Once that chapter ends, another begins”.

‘Sultan’ has broken records since it releases on 6th July.
