Salman Khan to open his own theatre chain on the outskirts of Mumbai

Salman Khan’s films definitely add up in box office numbers, and in screams from movie theatres. Sometime back, Khan had announced that he would like to open up his own theatre chain ‘Salman Talkies’, where tickets would be tax-free, at lower rates, and free for underprivileged children. These theatres will be on the Mumbai outskirts, and Khan reveals that plans for them had halted, as they are logistical details that need to be considered.

As according to Mirror, Khan said, “I had a lot of plans for the theatre chain but it’s taking me longer because I need to be very careful. There are a lot of logistical details involved so that the project doesn’t shut down. But let me clarify, the theatres will not be in Bandra or Juhu, but on the outskirts of Mumbai. There are so many things I want to do in the exhibitor and distributor space, and by turning distributor with (the upcoming Eid release) Race 3, I have taken my first step in that direction. This chain adds another aspect to my portfolio.”

Meanwhile, Khan’s next ‘Race 3’ releases on 15th June.
