Salman Khan to get teenage look for ‘Bharat’

With Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar teaming up for the third time, it seems that they are making their hatrick a big one. Reports have it that the filmmaker will have Khan looking like he did in his film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989). However, there’s going to be a lot of work to be put in place for it.

The film takes will take its audiences through Khan’s character as he goes from an 18-year-old to a 70-year-old. DNA reports Zafar explaining, “We have just locked the script. The idea is to make Salman look the way he appeared in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ — from the time he began his career to now. But we will know how much we can achieve only after our complete research is done.”

When asked how they would make this happen, the director stated, “We are in talks with the prosthetics and VFX team of ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ (2008). They had worked on the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Fan (2016), too.”

Khan had recently addressed how he doesn’t like using aesthetics due to it irritating his trigeminal neuralgia, a nerve disorder that affects the nerve causing pain. However, it seem’s his crew have it all covered. “I know Salman doesn’t like a lot of prosthetics and make-up, so we will have to design something that doesn’t bother him too much because he’s the central character. We are figuring out other ways of doing it. Benjamin Button came a decade ago and during this time, a lot has happened with respect to technology. Many things can be done with VFX. So, we might not need too much prosthetics or make-up,” Zafar expressed.

The filmmaker went on to say, “He’s such a good-looking man. He will work a little harder, as I keep pushing him to lose more weight and look younger. He can reduce weight and look 10 years younger within four weeks.”

If all goes to plan, then this is definitely one film that will get everyone to the theatres.
